delightfully alluring lo-fi fashion style illustrations...
18th August, 2010
With an elegant lo-fi illustrative style, that predominantly features ink, pencil and felt-tips, First Class graduate Niki Pilkington splits her time between Paris and her North Wales studio, and that disparity in culture and people can be seen throughout her works. Niki’s endearing brand of biro rendered voyeurism is both charming and so very ‘of the now’ – something that’s clear by the masses of positive press that she’s acquired from around the world, and if the hugely talented youngster continues at this pace then we’re convinced you’ll be seeing a lot more of her unique style…
'hot-chicks', punk-rock and Japanese toy obsessions...
17th August, 2010
With an intriguing passion for all that sparkles, a fascination with ‘hookers’ and a fanatical obsession for cute Japanese toys, Southern California raised – of Polish descent – Natalia Fabia, is a massively unique proposition, a ridiculously talented, photo-realistic painter with a devilish punk-rock attitude. Her latest exhibition, ”Fashionable Aftertaste Without End” features twelve oil paintings that offer male desires, Kaiju toys and her usual blend of sex, cuteness and downright obscurity. And we love them…
quite brilliant, mouth-watering typographical illustrations....
11th August, 2010
We’re loving these typography illustrations from Illinois designer, Dan Beckemeyer. Whilst we may unequivocally agree that pizza can simply not be consumed without the aid of beer, we’re stumped on the peanut butter and jelly one…. is this an American thing guys?
a beautiful feast of illustrative-goodness courtesy of London's CIA....
10th August, 2010
A little while back, for the benefit of our Twitter followers – if you’re not already, then why aren’t you? – we told you about having just received a lovely new book, from London based illustration agency, CIA, and also promised that we’d show it off in a bit more detail. Well, firstly apologies for the delay and secondly, here it is, in all of it’s resplendent beauty. Designed by Staziker Jones and published by Pirum Press, License To Inspire is inevitably chock full of the very best in illustration, all courtesy of CIA’s gifted crop of artists. There’s also an interesting insight into the company itself, their history and they way they work. With 256 pages packed with splendid eye-candy, this is a must buy for anyone with even a passing interest in illustration and most certainly essential for anyone in the industry……
we love the witty work of Shoreditch's most rock n' roll illustrator....
5th August, 2010
“Some say he’s the ‘Master of pens’.
Some call him the ‘Shoreditch Beat Busketeer’.
Some say he fucks about for a living.”
The information on Mr Bingo‘s website sums himself, and his work, up rather well. He’s an illustrator that certainly doesn’t take himself too seriously – and that makes him the perfect choice for clients after top notch illustrations with a wonderfully punk attitude. If you enjoy your design with a heavy dose of style, wit and well, plain rudeness, you’ll be sure to love the brilliant Mr Bingo just as much as we do……
inspirational images from Miami collective's Toronto takeover....
29th July, 2010
You may recall us writing a little while back about Miami-based art collective FriendsWithYou and their commission to take over Toronto with their unique experiential installations. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to catch it for ourselves, but we recently got some great pictures from the various events and exhibitions sent through, and just wanted to share them with you, so here we go…..
